For a background on Yongtaifu (永泰福) and their Xiangyaxi (香崖溪) material, see the listing for the 2021 Hupi Xiangyaxi QLC.
This is the 2020 Yongtaifu Xiangyaxi “Baizi” (百子) huazhuan. The brick has been cut into cubes which are available in bags of around 150 grams each.
Like the companion Shuangxi brick from the same series, this is a clean, well-made Xiangyaxi huazhuan. I have to admit I am having a bit of a hard time understanding (through tasting and reading) if there are any differences between the two bricks in terms of material or processing, or if the only difference is the size and markings. Here is a picture of the leaves of the two teas five steeps in, side by side. So I guess… get the Shuangxi if you’re getting married, the Baizi if you’re trying for a kid, and both if you’re curious about finding out for yourself whether or not there are non-cosmetic differences between these bricks.
Note: This tea may contain golden flowers (Jinhua/金花), a perfectly natural occurrence in certain heicha teas. Their development depends on factors like microbial activity, storage conditions, and time. However, individuals with Celiac Disease or severe gluten allergies should exercise caution, as we cannot guarantee that no wheat-based materials were involved at any stage of production.
